The Bears suffered their first loss of the season 5-4 to Rossview High School in Clarksville on Saturday afternoon. Six Bear pitchers pitched one inning each. Defensively, the Bears were hurt by four errors in the first two innings which caused all of Rossview’s runs to be unearned.
Cade Hoppe pitched the first inning and gave up two unearned runs on two hits, two strikeouts, and no walks. Hayden Robbins pitched the second inning and gave up three unearned runs on two hits, one strikeout, and one walk. Robbins was charged with his first loss on the season. Warren Lee pitched a scoreless third inning with no hits, no strikeouts, and no walks. Aidan Raines pitched a scoreless fourth with one hit, one strikeout, and one walk. Sam Simonson pitched a scoreless fifth with two hits, no strikeouts, and one walk. John Dyer pitched a scoreless sixth inning with two hits, no strikeouts, and no walks.
At the plate the Bears were led by Thomas Fullerton with two singles and one RBI. Dalton Earhart had one hit and two RBI. Cal Burgett had a double and scored a run, while Aidan Raines had a single and scored one run.
The Bears are now 10-1 (3-0 9-AAA) and will return to action on Tuesday at 7 PM at home against Beech High School in a District 9-AAA contest.
