The Bears defeated Gallatin 9-4 on Tuesday night to improve to 14-1 (7-0 9-AAA). Ethan Smith pitched five innings for the win to improve to 5-0 on the season. He gave up four runs, one earned run, and six hits. Smith struck out nine and walked two. Warren Lee pitched the final two innings to pick up his first save of the year. Lee gave up zero runs on one hit with four strikeouts and one walk.
At the plate the Bears recorded 11 hits. Eric Rice led the way going 2-4 with three RBI. Dylan Kasper and John Dyer each went 2-4 with one RBI. Kasper had a double while Dyer hit a triple. Cade Hoppe went 2-3 with one RBI. Trevor Vestal went 1-3 with two runs scored. Steven Jarrell and Cal Burgett each contributed run scoring singles.
The Bears will play Gallatin tomorrow at home with the JV playing at 4 PM and the Varsity playing at 7 PM.
